Pungwe Bush Camp
Small and intimate are key words when it comes to Pungwe Bush Lodge in the south of Manyeleti Game Reserve. The camp sleeps only eight guests in four safari tents. Pungwe is an unfenced camp, which means that game can be found very close to the lodge. The tents are posiionted in a way so that all provide unique views over the bushveld. Maybe you get lucky to spot some small game right in front of the tent from your own verandah. Of course all tents are equipped with bathrooms en suite and have both a shower and a bath. It is a fantastic experience taking a bath after a long day in the bush with the sounds of wildlife in the background.
Meals are served in the main lodge building, which basically is a giant open thatched dining room. Dinner is prepared on an open fire, giving it that true home-cooked taste and feeling. This also is the place to meet your fellow travellers and make new friends. Unwind in the lounge area and enjoy a glass of fine South African wine while listening to some great bush stories.
Activities in Pungwe Bush Camp
Going on a walking safari is the most emphasised activity in Punge Bush Camp. To walk through the bushveld in the company of an experienced, armed safari guide is to experience the essence of Africa. There is nothing more tantalising than the sights, sounds, feel and smells of the African bush. Game drives in an open Land Rover are a standard feature and are conducted both during the day and at night using a spotlight. One cannot help feeling ovewhelmed when seeing the sunset and listening to the haunting sounds of the African night.
