Skukuza plays host to around 300 visitors at a time - with a variety of accommodation options, ranging from tent and caravan sites, to fully furnished canvas safari tents with fridges, standing fans, and their own small veranda, to six person chalets and luxury guest houses, and a complete set of amenities. Skukuza Rest Camp is also the Kruger National Park's managerial center.
Gaming and entertainment facilities are rich here, with guests having options on guided bush walks, game drives with trained trackers, as well as pre-booked, overnight activities such as the Metsi Metsi Wilderness Trail. Guests should keep in mind that children younger than six will not be permitted on drives, and those younger than twelve are restricted from game walks. Seasonal kids educational programs are conducted on behalf of the camp, and wildlife films are screened daily (barring Sundays)
Additionally, the rest camp is home to a nine hole golf course, the Stevenson Hamilton Memorial library, and the Lake Panic Bird Hide. Facilities include a post office, bank, car hire, restaurants, an internet cafe, laundromat, car wash, auditorium and conference facilities, meaning you'll be in the midst of the bush, but never far away from the comforts of home.
With groups of animals from the big-five ranging in number from one to twelve thousand each, as well as an extensive host of various other predator, grazer and bird populations, guests might actually find themselves struggling to not see something during their drives. The atmosphere at Skukuza is almost always alive with the buzz of activity and adventure.
